A fixer is someone who can negotiate everything for your production while in a foreign location. From scouting locations, to budgeting, scheduling, organising transport, hotels and catering, providing local crew, securing permits and permissions and advising on local knowledge and customs.

A local fixer has a ‘home advantage’ when navigating the layout of the land.  This is even more prevalent in Australia where the landscape is so vast. A fixer has a far greater knowledge and pulling power when negotiating on locations and obtaining permits.

When visiting any country for filming or any other business purposes it is always important to follow the rules of the country and be socially respectful to cultures and customs.  A local fixer is the best person to guide you through this process.

We have a vast knowledge of the correct visa you need to enter Australia.  We can provide tips and tricks on how to complete them or recommend an expert to help with more complex visa’s.  For bigger productions or tricky applications we work with a specialised immigration agent.

Yes, almost all locations will have fees or permits and these can vary from very minimal to expensive depending on the size of the production.  In some circumstances we will advise to look at private properties if your sought after location is socially sensitive, too expensive or just plain difficult to navigate.  We will always find a solution to fit the budget.

The short answer to this is ‘yes’ but it depends on the type of production, which state you are filming in, how much you are spending locally and how many locals are involved.  For more information on your exact production contact us for clarification.

This is a tricky one and requires a lot of explanation and varying conditions.  It is often easier to use a local drone and operator under the guidance of your creative team. We can provide you with the technical specifications if you require.

A drone licence from a country other than Australia is not valid in Australia.

By law you cannot bring radios into the country. We can source locally approved radios for all conditions.

Most generic crew equipment can be brought into the country on an ATA Carnet.  We will help guide you through this process or direct you to a customs broker if required. Most equipment can also be hired locally.  There is nothing we have ever come across that cannot be hired in Australia either brand for brand or an equivalent substitute. Don’t forget we work on 240v 50hz power in Australia and this needs to be taken into account when bringing in some equipment.

Yes, we are a unionised country but this has never stopped us from getting anyone into the country and working under the correct visa while here.

We don't generally have union or non-union shows but every person in Australia is protected by minimum industrial award rates that are legislated by state and federal government.
